National Portfolio Day ~ Reflection

On November 20, 2011 was National Portfolio Day. I did not know what to expect when I arrived to the convention center because it was my first time but I was fascinated by the number of people who attended. I noticed some of the wissahickon graduates working as attendees in the national convention center. I did did not see anyone from my class but that was until I was inside the main room where portfolio day was being held. I was astonished to see a crowd of people inside already despite it being open just a few minutes ago. Already colleges have begun examining and looking at other peoples art work, I caught a glimpse of many incredible pieces that made me envious. I did not know what else to do but walk around the place and take a look at some of the colleges who were there that day. While walking around I found some of my classmates walking around wih art in their hands. I thought how awkward it was for me to be there empty handed, I should have brought something at least. So instead of walking around I sat down for a bit and that was when Mr. Miller and Mr. Wiliams came through the doors. At first they didnt see me so I made the first move and got their attention. It was short greeting but I was glad to see them there. I admire all the people who had the courage to show up on that day and introduce their latest art pieces to dozens of people among many talented artists. I hoped to achieve that strength one day on my own.

Welcome to 2011-2012!

Best year for me!

Last Day of Art in the Semester

Another semester of Art, gone like the wind. I hope to come back next year for portfolio. See you all in 2012!

My Avatar Rationale

I have always wanted to know what it was like to be in space, I have also wondered if any other extraterrestrials exist other than humans. So for my avatar I made a rocket/alien spaceship because I love a good mystery. One of my favorite shapes are crosses and stars. To me my spaceship describes me as who I am by its color and broad meaning. My favorite colors to use are black and white because they portray two different personalities that I have, and the logo NASA stands for my nickname in Biology and I thought it would be nice to throw it in the collection. The avatar is special to me because I have also always wonder what it would be like to fly like a bird or superman, and maybe to be able to use that ability to travel into space, land on new planets, and if im lucky meet aliens.

A new year 2010!

Glad to be back in art class

Finished!

Sorry for the delay, it was hard to modify the size of these images since I was a newbie. Hey it looks nice in the end and glad to get it over with.

Andy,

I finished uploading the images of yours I had. You seem to be missing 1 Familial, 1 “Other” and 1 Heroic. You might check your drawer and see if you can locate them. Otherwise your work looks good!

Your Site

Andy,

Your site looks awesome! I love looking at your images and reading your thoughts. I’m beginning to look forward to seeing you each day. I especially enjoy lunch when you are working on one side of the room and I on the other. We don’t speak much, but I like having you working there (as long as you’re not skipping eating!).

Keep it up!

Mr. Miller
